The town Titisee-Neustadt on the Titisee lake
Titisee-Neustadt (about 50 km from the 781-hors castle hotel Black Forest) is one of the biggest touristic attractions in the south Black Forest with over 100,000 visitors. It has about 12,000 residents and is composed of the towns Titisee, Neustadt, Langenordnach, Schwarzenbach and Rudenberg.
The main attraction is the phantasmagoric Titisee lake, which lies about 845 meters above sea level. It's the biggest nature sea in the south Black Forest with a length of 2 km, a width of 1 km and a depth of up to 42 meters. The name of Titisee lake supposedly comes from the roman captain Titus, who seasoned here with his hosts.
The first documentary mentioning of the name Titisee comes from the year 1111. The same named town was called Vierthaler until 1929. The biggest town is Neustadt. It was founded in the 13th century as customs office of the princes of Furstenberg. In 1398 it became municipal laws. Until today, Neustadt has kept his small town character and invites to saunter, stroll and shopping. The town, the Titisee lake and the rich forest landscape of the high Black Forest offer numerous possibilities for free time events, in the summer as well as in the winter.

Bathing in Titisee and in the swimming pool
Titisee-Neustadt offers a seldom bathing enjoyment. The open air swimming pool and the beach with yard directly at the sea with warm halls invite to go bathing, swimming, sun bathing and to relax on warm days. The bathing guest has the choice between the cool wetness with its crystal clear water or a heated pool. An indoor swimming pool in Titisee-Neustadt makes it possible to enjoy bathing the whole year round.

Boat trips, sailing, surfing
If you want to dare yourself out on the Titisee lake with the boat, you have different possibilities. You can participate in a boat trip with one of the four round boat trips, rent a pedal boat or a rowboat or get in your own boat. Because of water protection, only boats with electric motors are allowed on the Titisee lake. Of course you can also go sailing and surfing.

Fishing
The Titisee lake is a paradise for fishers. In the waters different kinds of fish such as pikes, pike-perches, lake trouts, rainbow trouts, perches, chubs, common breams, carps, tenches, roaches, eels, burbot and whitefish. They're all present in superb specimen. Fishing is possible between May and October from the shore. Basically there's no catching limit.

Walking, hiking, hiking paths
The pedestrian zone "Seestrasse" ("sea street"), which has been converted into a sea boardwalk in Titisee-Neustadt is deemed as the nicest stroll mile. A good marked hiking path net of over 100 km length on the clearly defined and bounded-off unified topographical area Titisee-Neustadt invites to ample hikings in fresh and healthy air. Beautiful trips in the near surroundings is also possible from Titisee-Neustadt with the bicycle and mountain bike. Numerous bike trails guide over hills with magical views, through deep valleys and narrow gorges, through vast forests and past deep blue seas and ponds. But because of the overcoming altitude differences, most of the bike trails are somewhat pretentious.

Winter sports
The winter sportsman also comes on his cost in Titisee-Neustadt. The widest area is taken in on by the Alps and northern sport arts. The ski lifts in the towns Waldau and Schwarzenbach offer departure possibilities for easy hillsides. Cross-country skiers can choose between 10 cross-country ski-tracks. Alpine ski courses and cross-country skiing courses are offered from the ski school Hochschwarzwald (high Black Forest) for amateur and advancers.
The frozen Titisee, the ice ponds and the nature ice stadium Hermeshof invite to ice skating or "Eisstockschießen" (curling). You'll find toboggan fun in different hills and the toboggan course Saig near the Titisee, the highest laid and longest toboggan course in the south Black Forest. The "Hochfirstschanze", the biggest natural ski jump of Germany can be found near Titisee-Neustadt.
